I installed a fresh copy of XP tonight and to my dismay the default network drivers did not install, there is NO lan connection and thus i cannot connect to the internet to even get the WIFI drivers. And since there is 6000 drivers for each model laptop I have no idea i need. I live in south africa so please give me a link to the lan driver so i can let windows do the rest automatically, im so over OEM drivers and what not.
Thanks. I just bought a usb wifi adapter and used that to get access to the internet and use the dell tool to update the drivers. However, after much frustration with XP I have been wondering about upgrading to win 7. Is it recommended to do so with only 2GB ram though? Thank you
Once you have downloaded your new driver, you'll need to install it. In Windows, use a built-in utility called Device Manager, which allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.
To make a device work correctly ,we need a compatible driver .For this model machine ,it seems that there is not an official driver for this device compatible with Windows 7 machine .It only supports Windows Vista ,Windows 2000,Windows XP .Here is a link for reference :Latitude D630 -support/product/latitude-d630/drivers
You put in your express service tag and they will point you to the correct driver for your system. If it does not support windows 7 get the newest driver dell has and install it in compatibility mode. 2b1af7f3a8
