There was a serious AirDrop bug in iOS 13.2.3 that let attackers overwhelm nearby iPhones with files, causing them to lock up, reports TechCrunch. Apple addressed the bug in the iOS 13.3 update, and the details of how it works are now public.
Customers who held LUNA or staked TerraUSD (aUST) on Okcoin prior to the attack on May 7th will receive an airdrop of the newly minted Terra (LUNA) tokens. Customers will also receive an airdrop for LUNA and UST tokens they held post-attack on May 26.
There are other methods of achieving the same including Bluetooth push messaging, and MMS picture messages. Both are fairly easy to block though. Depending on the configuration of the device an image may not be presented for acceptance, unlike airdrop.
They did this with the help of a TCP reset attack that blocked the AWDL connection and allowed researchers to interpose their $20 hardware rig between the two devices and establish legitimate connections with both the sender and the receiver.
Due to the highly technical and specialized threats underpinning the development of mercenary spyware, such as exploit chains and zero-day vulnerabilities, no single mitigating strategy is foolproof. Any additional mitigations instead focus on reducing the potential attack surface and interfering with persistence, rather than completely blocking all possibility of attack. With that in mind, there are some additional mitigating strategies and general security best practices security teams should advise potential targets to employ.
But there are risks to airdrops as well. Scammers try to announce fake airdrops to capture private keys and wallet addresses in phishing attacks. Others allegedly require you to send money to an address. This is called a dusting attack and is almost certainly a scam. The rule of thumb is to not accept airdrops unless you know why you are eligible for an airdrop.
You can check past airdrops here on our CoinMarketCap airdrop site. Scroll down to \"ended airdrops\" and check all the past airdrops. You can also check your personal airdrop history through a blockchain explorer like Etherscan.
Those who held either LUNA, including staking derivatives of the asset, or aUST (UST deposited in Anchor Protocol) pre-attack will be airdropped some fraction of the LUNA that they owned. The same is true for those who hold LUNA or UST in the post-attack period.
The majority of airdrop recipients will receive 30% of their new tokens upon the creation of the genesis block of the new chain. The remaining 70% of these tokens will be vested over two to four years, depending on which Terra assets and how many of those assets you held pre- and post-attack.
Restrictions iOS Device Profile offers different settings that IT admins can configure to push and apply on a device. A restriction policy that is applied on an iOS device will block the specified device functionalities in one go, thereby protecting corporate data from any security attack. Scalefusion allows you to selectively restrict functionalities or apps on managed iOS devices from the web console.
Having someone airdrop anything to you without your direct knowledge and permission is not the same as meeting a random person on the street getting a pamphlet about a discount sale at a nearby store. 153554b96e
